Russia: Weather
The climate of Russia depends on the district you have chosen for your journey. It is impossible to give a universal advice for tourists: for some regions you must have warm clothes, for other - a protection from insects and a sunscreen.
The climate of Russia is influenced by different geographical factors and is characterized by a clear separation into cold and warm seasons.
A large part of territory lies in the temperate climate zone. And there are four subtypes: temperate-continental, continental, continental and monsoon (in the far East).
The coldest region of Russia is Siberia, the average temperature in January falls below -52 degrees and in February -62 C.
In winter mostly the whole territory of Russia is covered by the snow. The exception is the southern region of the Black Sea.
Summer in the country is very different: in South there is hot weather, while in the Northern regions just the snow melts.
